Totally Digging: California Cool

I’ve been obsessed with California cool interiors as of late. I love the earthy, slightly boho, super chill yet luxe feel. So naturally I  gravitate towards the same look when it comes to table settings. While I don’t often entertain, its good to have a couple of pegs to gather inspiration from when the time comes. Here are some of my picks:

All natural elements mixed with a few simple graphic pieces and various metallics instantly transform a humble wooden table.

Copper and indigo coloured glassware  look so good when paired with simple white dishes and gold flatware. Throw in a couple of succulents and garden flowers you’re ready for easy outdoor entertaining.

Intimate, casual and cozy. This arrangement is perfect for a lovely night in with friends.

Now that you have your plates, platters and glassware, its time to spruce up your setting with shiny, happy DIYs! We at the Inspiration Seekers are crazy about spray paint. We use them all the time for our projects for and articles. Why? They’re inexpensive, fool proof and can transform pretty much anything from boring to brilliant!

To complete the easy luxe California look, one needs metallic accents here and there. My personal choice is gold but silver and bronze look quite chic too! Here are some of my favorite projects that I hope to work on soon:

1) Woven baskets are instantly sleek and chic with a few sprays of silver paint! I absolutely love that the handles are kept in their natural element.

2) Inexpensive plastic succulents from the department store can be turned into place card holders when transformed with gold paint. You can also mix them with real succulents for an amazing looking centerpiece.

3) Oh these golden twigs make fabulous accents! What’s even better is that you can use them all year long!

4) Amazing what masking tape and paint can do! These graphic candlesticks are a cinch to make simply tape the area that you want to paint and spray away!

5) Painted wine bottles. Now these are probably my favorite. The hubby has a ton of these lying around plus a couple of other odd shaped bottles which I think would make quite a lovely grouping.

Hmmm… this post has got my creative juices flowing, now to look for some stuff to spray paint!
