I decided to work from home today and keep an eye on Little Mr. M who is absent from school due to high fever. Poor guy.
Thought I should be productive and do a post for the blog. Let’s take a tour of our simple Family Room.
We have a no-TV policy in the kids’ bedrooms, so this is where we hold our family’s “Friday Fun Night Movies”, watch the kids’ Saturday morning cartoons, my husband’s Manny Pacquiao fights, UAAP basketball and my grand slam tennis tournaments. (Go Fed!) The kids hang out here with their friends to play Kinect Xbox. And Little Ms. M exercises her vocal chords with the Magic Sing.
I chose to decorate the room in black, gray and white as a playful nod to the old black and white movies. Modular couch was custom made by Crisann Celdran with fabric from Townes in Makati.
Loved ones’ black and white photos in inexpensive black frames from The SM Store. Hmm…. need to update these photos soon.
I can’t remember where I bought this pillow with Verner Panton black-and-white Geometri fabric, but the architectural pillow is from The SM Store.
This quirky moustache pillow from Apostrophe brings fun to such a serious looking couch. It reminds me of Charlie Chaplin.
Architectural pillow is from The SM Store and the zebra pillow’s fabric is from the Kamuning market.
TV table is from Crossings Department Store purchased 10 years ago!
Lego R2D2 creation was a joint project of the hubby, Little Ms. M and Little Mr. M.
Rocking sheep was hand carried from Bangkok. It was a gift from my Thai auntie, Pa Soon. Thank you, Pa Soon!
Manny Baldemor’s Aquarelle.
Migs Villanueva’s painting was purchased in a charity sale in Alabang. I am still hoping to buy one with a girl and 2 younger boys for my kids. Love the patchwork details on this little girl’s dress. Adorable.
Side tables are from Sabado Furniture in Baguio. They deliver! Lamps are from Azcor in SM Megamall.
This is one of my favorite rooms in our house because we have tons of happy memories here. The family really uses this space and the kids are so comfortable here.
What is your family room like?
