Happy New Year everyone! It has been a crazy holiday season juggling work, mommy and wife duties. I am (secretly) relieved that all the celebrations are over!
I finally found the time to take decent photos of Little Ms. M’s room to share with you.
Little Ms. M’s room is an explosion of fun colors, textures and patterns to reflect her vibrant personality. Our commissioned family “portrait” by Francis Nacion is the perfect anchor for this room.
This may sound silly. But the color pegs for the room were based on my old Kate Spade iPhone 3GS case. I was going around different stores looking for paint colors, bedding, home accessories, etc. with this as my color guide.
Little Ms. M wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. She has a collection of various animal figurines and toys. I spy lacquered elephants, bunny rabbits…
I purchased this chevron banig at Edsa ShangriLa Hotel yesterday! I have the tendency to gravitate towards traditional products with modern twists.
Remember this from an earlier post? It was a challenge to import this all the way from Hanoi, Vietnam. It looks so sweet with the paper butterflies from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I spy a yellow bird peeking out of the cage…. Thanks Ate Regina!
This custom made bookshelf and table system, a perfect marriage of form and function, was made by Mang Iseng using quality plyboard and laminates. Drawer handles are from Hong Kong Hardware in ShagriLa Mall.
Little Ms. M LOVES to read. This her reading nook. I always remind her to take care of her eyes, she MUST read with 2 lights, one over her book and a second one over head.
The Plan Toys Dollhouse is from her Thai Uncle Wut! Again, it was another challenge to bring it home to Manila. This Chevron banig is from Kultura, a treasure trove for stylish Filipino products.
Another Francis Nacion painting is displayed as a gentle reminder for Little Ms. M to practice playing her violin everyday! Owl and Circle artworks are by Little Ms. M.
Inspired by J. Crew’s genius visual merchandising, a collection of headbands is displayed using flowers vases. Gus Albor drew a portrait of Little Ms. M after she played her violin for him. Celadon elephant lamp is from Thailand.
Thank you to our reader, Trisha_CM! I found the paper mache letters at Market Market as you recommended. I had it painted with the colors from the Kate Spade iPhone case peg! It turned out adorable. I spy several elephants, giraffes, Hello Kitty, a pig …
There you have it, Little Ms. M’s room. It took me some time to put the finishing touches, but I think it turned out to be a fun yet polished room that she can grow into her teens years with.
Have a fabulous inspiration filled 2013!
