Collection number two is well on the way and while we love each and every piece in it, we have to admit that we do have our favorites. These are the our go-to essentials that we already know we’ll be wearing pretty much every week. But before we get into that, a quick background on how we build our collection and closets— with every garment that we choose, we make sure that it ticks all the right boxes: Do we love it? Is it comfortable? Is it versatile? Only when the answer is a resounding yes do we decide to carry it. Because let’s be honest, we’re working mamas who are also very hands-on when it comes to our kids. We need clothes that we can wear all day long, all year round. While we do love fashion, it also has to make sense for us. No to disposable clothing and yes to a cool, classic and curated closet.
Without further ado, here are our top 3 picks and we’re showing you how to wear them 3 different ways.
- The Linen Shirt Dress
The Linen Shirt Dress is one of our bestsellers and its easy to see why. The loose silhouette, midi length and 3/4s sleeves make it a cinch to style. Here’s how we’re wearing them for travel, date nights, and lunch with girls.
Comfort is key when it comes to traveling and it doesn’t get any better than a loose fitting dress. We added a bit of polish by cinching the waist and topping the whole outfit with a go-anywhere army jacket. Gold slides that are easy to slip on and off complete the look.
Got 5 minutes? You can spend 4 minutes retouching your makeup and 1 minute pulling on a pair of slim cut trousers. Et voila! A cool and uncomplicated look that’s even faster than saying “I’m ready!”.
Brunch with the girls.
We’ve never met a stripe we didn’t like we’re not about to start anytime soon! In fact we’re big believers of piling it on. Pair the Linen Shirt Dress with your tried and tested white kicks, top with a scarf, grab your favorite sling bag and walk out the door– because chikka waits for no one.
2) The Button Down Dress
You know we love our button downs! This particular one just goes a little bit longer! The built in belt hugs the waist just right, and the strategically placed slit adds just the right amount of playfulness. We’re styling it 3 ways for Sunday lunch, school pick-up and exploring the city.
We don’t know about you, but for us Sunday seems to be the busiest day of the week! From back to back family gatherings to errands and impromptu catch up sessions, we never quite know how this day will turn out. A classic yet casual dress usually works for all possible scenarios especially when paired with comfy sandals and your trusty denim jacket.
School Pick Up
With all the cycles, quizzes, and juggling of after school activities, you need an outfit that is comfortable and campus appropriate. We like how the dress does double duty as lightweight outerwear that you can easily put on or remove depending on the venue and occasion.
Exploring The City
Nothing gets us more excited than exploring a place for the first time. Traveling has always been one of our favorite things to do and this outfit can take you basically anywhere from day to night. Layer the dress over a stripe L/S tee when the temperature drops or remove the inner layer and wrap it around your wait for when it heats up. Finish of the look with a classic bucket bag and white sneakers.
3. The Linen Pants
Give us a pair of comfy pants and we’ll buy them in every color. This holds true for this particular pair! Not only is it forgiving, flattering and functional, its also lightweight and breathable, perfect for our tropical climate! We’re bringing our pair to the beach to the street and everywhere in between. Here’s how we’re styling them for the weekend, work and cocktails.
You can’t go wrong with the essentials. We’re wearing this pair high at the waist with a stripe tank tucked in and a well worn braided belt to tie the whole look together. So easy.
Told you we like button downs. We love how the crisp white shirt contrasts the relaxed feel of the linen pants. Wear them with a fun pair of heels to complete the look.
This is probably our most favorite outfit yet. The linen on linen is the easiest way to look chic without even trying. We kept it tonal and paired the pants with our asymmetrical top. A quick french tuck (just the front, leave the back untucked) plus black pumps complete the look.
Are these pieces that you’d gravitate towards too? How would you style them? We’d love to know!
