What’s Inside My Makeup Pouch -C

I am not a makeup artist, nor am I a beauty blogger. But I do know my face quite well. The makeup style I had in my 20’s and 30’s is now outdated and unsuited for my ageing skin. When it comes to putting on makeup, I always TRY  for a classic, neutral look with a fresh and modern feel. These are the makeup that I carry in my bag everywhere I go.

Pouch – I love my pouch because this is a pasalubong from my 12 year old son, Matteo. He got it from the camp he attended in Lyon, France. When he gave it to me he said, ” Uh, sorry mom. Don’t flip the sequins, ok?! I didn’t know the pouch could do that.”

My LOVE pouch after flipping the sequins.

Powder Foundation – MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation NC 35 – Even though this is actually a full coverage powder foundation, I mainly use this for touch ups. I don’t use the sponge that comes with it because the powder will look heavy and powdery on my face. I prefer to use a travel powder blush.

Concealer – Cle de Peau in Ocre – I think this is my third or fourth tube. This has been in lots of beauty awards in the past few years. Picked it up because of the awesome reviews, and it has always been a staple in my makeup pouch. I prefer this for on-the-go concealing because it blends so easily. I have other concealers at home which does a good job. Will save that for another post.

Palette – If I have to survive with just one palette, it will be this one from Charlotte Tilburry. It is called Instant Look in a Pallette in Beauty Glow. CT says that you can put on a full face in 5 minutes withthis palette. Never timed myself though. The colors blend so well and are universally flattering. Don’t be fooled by the slight shimmer, it DOES NOT settle into my fine lines. It is truly a COMPLETE palette and you can play around with it for daytime or nighttime looks.

Blush – I love blush. And I love this Claudia Schiffer Blush in Hot Sand. Blush is essential in my routine. A gentle sweep adds a warm, healthy natural glow.

Brows – Innisfree Auto Eyebrow Pencil # 4. This is the perfect color that matches my brows. It applies so easily and the spoolie in the opposite end blurs my strokes for a natural finish. I heard that Innisfree is coming to the Philippines! Do you know if this is true? If this is true, we can’t wait for this popular Korean brand to hit our shores!

Lips – This is a running joke with L and I. She has noticed after shopping with me all these years that I keep buying lippies from various brands all in one color, My Lips But Better! LOL! Here are the lippies currently in my bag:

  • Chanel Rouge Color Shine in Boy # 54 – My second tube. Perfect MLBB. Pretty, lightweight and moisturising. Looks very natural on my lips. I use this when I need a little color or when I feel my lips are dry and naked.
  • Sephora Cream Lip Stain #13 – If I have to attend an event, or if I need a lipstick with staying power, I reach for this particular MLBB. A Sephora bestseller that has tons of great reviews. This goes on smooth and lasts even after a meal.

Limited edition travel mac brushes from a couple years back.

Brushes – I love the MAC travel brush sets. These are from a couple years ago. They last so long and have maintained their softness and shape. They are such an awesome investment. I know there is a new travel brush collection in their stores right now.

Finishing Spray – Urban Decay All Nighter –  Like I said earlier, I despise the full on powder look. So I use this to melt the makeup a bit. I got this for free. I actually love and use the MAC Fix + Prime at home. I plan to buy the MAC travel size version when this All Nighter runs out.

Blotting Paper – Powdered Oil Clear Paper – Actually, to be honest, if I am in public and and can’t excuse myself to go to the ladies’ room to powder my nose, I quietly whip out a sheet and discreetly dull the shine on my nose. Pasimple.

Tweezers – Tweezerman – I love this travel version since it keeps the tip safe and hygienic. Perfect for getting those stray brow hairs in an emergency. I remember a very dear friend once told me her most favourite place to pluck her eyebrows is on the plane. It has the perfect light that helps her see the littlest strands of hair. I have never plucked on a plane though. Have you?

The pouch that keeps on giving space. Tons of stuff can fit into this!

So that’s it. These are the stuff I lug around in my bag every single day. When you’re a mom to 4 children, with 4 different schedules, your face needs to be ready for every situation! Haha! How about you, what are your make up bag essentials?
