Step inside the light filled abode of couple R and L and get blown away by their quirky cool space. Their home is a study on mixing clean lines, mid-century furniture and awe-inspiring art. Not ones to shy away from bold and eclectic artwork, R and L like investing in masters as well as up and coming artists.
The living room is where the family likes to hang out. When planning the space, L was adamant about keeping the home child friendly. Nothing was to be off limits to her two kids. The custom made couch is pared with a glass coffee table filled with everything that she and R love which include a plate designed by John Jaylo, An Arturo Luz sculpture, coffee table books and a religious relic. A vintage ottoman is juxtaposed against a modern geometric chair and the cowhide rug adds warmth to the clean space.
The vintage electric fan was a fantastic find from L’s uncle. She remembers having one as a child.
The artwork by Mimi Tecson is one of R’ favorites. “She uses a lot of old toys, thread and mixed media— it connects to your childhood which I think is fantastic.” Lamp is from Ikea, Duck pins from G.O.D. (Goods Of Desire), ceramic elephant from Cambodia.
