The New Year is just around the corner, and if you’re like us, that means non-stop family gatherings and parties galore! What better way to ring in 2013 than by being with your loved ones with bubbly on hand!

Whether you’re hosting a year-end-cocktail party or an impromptu soiree, it’s always good to have a small bar-set up at one corner of your home.

Here are some of our favorite tips and tricks from industry insiders to get you started and to make sure you’re always prepared no matter what:

Second, stock up on your liquors:

  • Cognac
  • Rum
  • Gin
  • Bourbon
  • Vodka
  • Tequila

Expert tip: No need to splurge on vodka, rum, gin and tequila since they are often used for mixed drinks. DO spend on Whiskey (Bourbon or Rye) as people tend to drink these alone or on the rocks.

Third, its would also be nice to have some of these items on hand:

Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice, Lemon and Lime Juice, Club Soda.

Lastly, after setting everything up, don’t forget to style it. Treat your bar as a vignette. Sure you want it to be functional, but it wouldn’t hurt to have it look pretty as well.
